Dad's Day Tie Tack
from week ending 6/13/99

Design and instructions by Diana Trupiano 1999
Supplies:
1 round (button style) pin back
Scrap (1/4" ball) Polymer Clay (Fimo, Sculpy, Promat, etc.) color of your choice
Iridescent or glitter dimensional paint, color of your choice
Small square aluminum foil
Hot glue gun and sticks OR Aleene's Thick Designer Tacky Glue
Instructions:
Lay foil flat on work surface.
Knead clay with fingers until soft. Form into a very round ball; place on center of foil.
With flat side of pin post, press down on clay ball until sides are rounded and a depression is left. Remove pin post.
Place foil with clay in a 265º oven and bake for 30 minutes. Let cool completely before handling.
Once cooled, fill depression with dimensional paint until a very rounded mound is formed. The paint will flatten out when dry.
Leave undisturbed until dry. This can take a day or more.
Glue clay piece to pin back. Let dry completely.
Optional** Apply one coat of Aleene's Clear Gloss Varnish. Let dry. (I prefer to do this. The gloss gives everything a real finished look.)
